Welcome

The XXIX National Meeting of the Portuguese Chemical Society will take place at the University of Coimbra, from July 20 to 23, 2025. The theme of the congress will be “Chemistry, the Unifying Science.”

As the largest event in Portugal organized by the Portuguese Chemical Society, this congress is a unique opportunity for all fields of chemistry to come together. Chemistry is present in everything around us and within us, being essential to life and everyday activities. However, its use requires responsibility and sustainability to benefit everyone and the planet. In a world demanding change, chemistry—the Central Science of Transformation—plays a fundamental and unifying role.

The event will feature the presentation of the prestigious Ferreira da Silva, Fraústo da Silva, and Vicente Seabra Medal awards. This year, we will once again present the Luso-Spanish Prize and, for the first time, the Luso-Italian Prize. Additionally, the event will mark the conclusion of the 'Químicas' conference series.
